Every year when new year steps in, everyone begins it with certain resolution to be achieved in the following 365 days. During previous year a great deal of discussion had undergone discussing vice of corruption and ways to deal with this national malaise. The Govt. claimed that policy framework is either being overhauled or new mechanism is being devised to deal with corruption. On the other hand detractors were vociferous that Govt. is not serious about ending the corruption and is shielding the corrupts.
Corruption had remained the most debated topic of the previous year, besides other. It is shameful that persons who are at war against corruption are being eliminated and corrupts are moving around with absolute impunity. It appears that our society has made up its mind to live with corruption. The roots of this cancerous malaise has become so deep that uprooting it shall be a Herculean task.
India is amongst the top corrupt nations, according to International Corruption Index. All the Govt. Deptts. are involved in unfair and malpractices and nurturing corruption. Taking bribes is being seen by officials and bureaucrats as their fundamental right and any voice raised against this fundamental right silenced by them.
Uprooting corruption is seeming next to impossible, if not fought with all means available and society had to take this task into its own hand. Everyone must resolve that corruption shall not be tolerated at any level and it shall be made certain that corrupts does not go Scot free and be punished. There is no dearth of laws in the country to deal with corruption but the implementing agencies are lacking the expected alacrity and efficiency and resulting the corrupts go Scot free.
At the dawn of new year 2016, each one of us must make a resolution to end corruption. It is a crime against society and therefore, society had to be determined to uproot this national malaise from this country, if we want to give good lives to the forthcoming generations.
Therefore, let us make a promise to ourselves that neither we will give bribe nor shall we receive bribe. Neither we shall be afraid of any kind of pressure nor shall we become the slave of selfishness. Let us make a clean, corruption free, honest and powerful India, in 2016.
